Masking Message from Chair Rick Petrella

November 15, 2022

Dear families and staff,

There has been much debate in the news about masks and the school board’s responsibility when it comes to mask mandates in schools. We want to share that we continue to follow the direction of the Provincial and local Medical Officers of Health.

At this time students, staff, and visitors are not required to wear a mask while in school buildings and/or on student transportation; however, please note that the Provincial Chief Medical Officer of Health has strongly recommended that individuals mask while in public spaces. Should that change, we will provide immediate notification.

We continue to support our public health partners by sharing their information to families via our school messaging system and social media.

Masking is optional and individuals who choose to wear a mask can certainly do so without worry. Masks will continue to be provided to all who request them.

Please continue to visit the COVID-19 section of the Board’s website or your local public health unit for information:

God bless,
Chair of the Board, Rick Petrella
